About the Ultimate Filter's 2 Step Process

The new PUR Ultimate filter provides dual filtration using a two-step process.

Step One

Activated carbon reduces chlorine, sediment, chemicals linked to cancer (TTHMs, Benzine), and bad taste and odor.
Ion exchange resin reduces lead and copper.

Step Two
Pleated Microfilter removes 99.99% of the microbiological cysts cryptosporidium and giardia as well as reducing asbestos.

The Contaminant or other substances removed or reduced by this water filter are not necessary in all users' water. Claims are calculated based on NSF accepted practice of average percent reduction.
